An introduction to the social science disciplines covered in this section
Welcome to Social Sciences
Social Sciences studies people — how we think, behave, organize into societies, and communicate — using systematic observation and evidence rather than opinion alone.
What you'll find here
This section is organized into the major social science disciplines: Psychology (the mind and behavior), Sociology (society and social institutions), Economics (how resources are allocated), History (studying the past through evidence), Education (how people learn), Business (management, finance, and marketing), Linguistics (the structure of language), and Communication (how meaning is shared between people).
How to use this section
Each branch has three levels — Student, Advanced, and Expert — so you can start wherever feels right and go deeper whenever you're ready. Many of the branches connect closely with each other, so feel free to explore in whatever order interests you most.
