I warmly welcome you all to www.medwissen.at / www.medwissen.ch.

Towards the end of my studies, I realised that medical knowledge is so extensive that a new method had to be developed for its implementation and for dealing with this knowledge. It was then not very difficult to understand that it had to have something to do with computers. This is how I came up with the idea of creating a website. With this project, I want to use the internet and computers to summarise the fundamentals of medical knowledge in a simple and accessible way on a website or in the form of a digital script, for ourselves, for students, aspiring surgeons, and for the general public interested in medicine.

Nowadays, it is not easy to find one's way through the vast sea of medical knowledge. Therefore, I want to make use of the advantages of the internet, particularly hyperlinks, to identify connections between different topics. Today, the internet can be accessed from almost any computer or mobile phone, making it possible to look up information from virtually anywhere.

The project is also intended to promote the exchange of information among people who are at the beginning of their scientific careers.

I will present the essential information concisely and to the point. Nevertheless, this project will also be important for my further career in surgery, both in teaching and as a foundation for further independent research. The development of a concept is intended to serve as a template or introduction for scientific studies.

Unlike other medical online platforms, this project focuses on developing and expanding a script on a specific topic, such as pancreatic cancer. This makes it possible to work much more efficiently. There will no longer be a need to search for and compile all the information on a topic from scratch. Instead, one can quickly bring one's knowledge up to date and build upon the existing material.

The script will focus primarily on surgery and cover surgical topics in detail, incorporating the latest scientific knowledge. Other medical fields will be addressed only to the extent that is necessary or possible from a surgical perspective.

Your assistance, suggestions for improvement, and references to new studies and publications are of great importance to this project.

I am grateful for every suggestion for improvement and for all feedback you may provide.

Kind regards,
